Dr. Jennifer M. Kishimori, DVM, PhD
Dr. Kishimori is a fish veterinarian and researcher who brings expertise in fish health, regulatory science, and fish parasitology to VetMed Aquatic LLC.
Originally from Aiea, Dr. Kishimori developed a deep respect for the ocean as a youngster, exploring O'ahu shores with her family. Dr. Kishimori earned a DVM at the North Carolina State
Dr. Kishimori is a fish veterinarian and researcher who brings expertise in fish health, regulatory science, and fish parasitology to VetMed Aquatic LLC.
Originally from Aiea, Dr. Kishimori developed a deep respect for the ocean as a youngster, exploring O'ahu shores with her family. Dr. Kishimori earned a DVM at the North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, focusing on non-traditional species such as fish and turtles, and a PhD in Microbiology (fish parasitology) at the Hawai'i Institute of Marine Biology, University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Dr. Kishimori is a graduate of Cornell University's AQUAVET I and the University of Florida's Advanced Fish Medicine Courses. and has had aquatic experiences at the New England, New Jersey, and National Aquariums. Dr. Kishimori's regulatory expertise was honed during her military service, working to protect Service Members from high-consequence pathogens. Dr. Kishimori is elated to be back home after she and her husband were away from Hawai'i for many years, both serving in the US Army.
